Take full advantage of Automation Studio™ capabilities by downloading the latest service releases. Adjust your software’s settings to receive a notification when a new update is available. Users under the Annual Maintenance & Technical Support Plan will automatically receive the service releases notifications via email.
Before installing the 32 or 64-bit version, please verify your computer’s compatibility by running Automation Studio™ Version Identifier.
In order to download the latest Automation Studio™ release 6.3, it is recommended to ensure your computer meets the following minimum requirements:
- Operating System Professional Edition (32-bit or 64-bit): Windows 7 SP1, 8, 8.1, 10 or Windows Server 2008R2 SP1, 2012, 2012R2 and Server 2016 - It is not recommended to install Automation Studio™ on a server machine
- Microsoft Office is not required, but if present, must be 32 bit for 32-bit installation of Automation Studio™ or 64 bit for 64-bit installation of Automation Studio™
- CPU: Intel® Core™ or equivalent. Automation Studio™ takes advantage of multi-core processors.
- Memory: 4 GB
- Graphic Card: Video memory 512 MB and up. Support for OpenGL 2.0 or Direct3D 11 is required for the 3D module
- Disk space: 5 GB of free space is recommended. Additional space might be required for the catalogues.

What is Automation Studio?
Automation Studio is a visual system designs for engineering projects. Developed by Famic Technologies, it has had a history of use in academic as well as training settings for people in the electric, technical, pneumatic, and engineering fields. Since the program is also a simulator, it can be used not only to visualize projects, concepts or structural models but also to test their efficacy. While students and trainees use it for these purposes, it is used by professionals as well prior to their implementations, as may be gathered from the existence of a Professional Edition alongside the Educational Edition.
Both allow virtual system design, animation and simulation. That said the professional edition naturally has more advanced features. For example, its diagramming tools for system outline or creation are more in line with professional document standards, include more part symbols and options for creating custom icons, failure management resources post-simulation, and also more configuration tools for various system parts. The Educational Edition is also more geared towards students of electrical circuit design while the Professional Edition supports design/simulation for hydraulics, electro-hydraulics, pneumatics, and electro-pneumatics.
