hey everyone..i recieved a few items the other day in the mail & not having a proper look at these items i equipped them as they were upgrades but noticed that i was dominating so i checked my gear & noticed that the items i had gotten through the mail had 3 slots with high level gems in the, the items were a belt, necklace & 2 rings all with 3 slots & high lvl gems (lvl 150 gems)..now i thought that was a tad weird as from playing D3 on PC as well i knew these items didnt have 3 slots & i didnt think gems could go that high, ive since broke said items down as i dont want to be accused of cheating but if your not suppose to be modding items i think this needs to be watched as i could have easy kept said items& went straight to number one on leader boards etc etc..its cheating i feel sorry for the people like me who have to bust their asses to get the gear they want/need when there are mods like this getting around ruining the game..
You didn't find it odd 3 slots on all of your gifted gear?
There's no leaderboard on consoles so you don't need to worry being number one in anything
Mods are ruining the game blah blah blah
What did it ruin exactly for you? You one shot everything?
You spend one month or maybe one year to get god legit gear to one shot everything, isn't that the sole purpose of this game?
It didn't ruin anything for you, you just hop into the complain train like everyone is doing
You had the option to NOT EQUIP said items
Sorry to break this for you but if anything was ruined in your game that's your own fault

So what makes your opinion on modded items more valid than the OP's?
Why does that matter?
All complaints have been made already
YOUR opinion, MY opinion, OP's opinion won't have a !@#$%^- impact on anything
Modded items are there since the release, it's up to you if you want to use them by now
If you didn't know that you are just plain stupid
Well who says you can't? The only real person is you. If you choose to use them more power to you. If you don't more power to you. You are free to play how you choose to. Just play how you want and most importantly have fun playing. Because in the end it's all about having fun. Nothing more. Nothing less. Just plan old fun.

Just so we're clear..So long as you don't ruin someone else's fun. But then again we'll never get seasons because of modders and exploiters. So..indirectly by using the modded items, you are contributing to the problem 'indirectly.'
Console loses a big part of the diablo experience because of this.
So you can be casual about it, but the reality is that we'll always be a 2nd priority because people are too lazy and exploit the game.

If these is a game, people WILL find a way to cheat their way to the top. It's really sad.

Exactly why i hate modders. People always say 'they arent ruing anything for you!'
To hell they arent, they are ruining the entire online matchmaking portion of the game concidering you cant find one without modders. Secondly like the post above mentions. We get NO seasons souly because of modders. So shut up with the 'they arent ruining anything' routine.
They are ruining plenty.

modders are not the reason we don't get seasons. the consoles were meant to be a different game altogether compared to the pc version. so don't blame people who mod about why we don't have seasons. if nobody ever modded anything from ps3 and transferred to ps4, we still wouldn't have seasons.

Ok so if literally every single console diablo player didnt mod because we all had the same mindset which is we all want to play legit. This is a hypothetical but lets just say that we all agreed no one is gonna mod. You dont think that blizzad would have added seasons by now? 4 major patches in? C'mon you know they would have. The reason they havent is because the majority of players ae modders, and most of them not by choice.
They play online unfamiliar with diablo and get modded items and use them unknowingly. When confronted about it (if ever) they have two options. 1. Get rid of said mods or 2. Ignore that fact and continue using them bcuz thats what they are use to now.
But i guarentee a majority in that scenario 2 wouldnt mod if they were 'brought up' per say playing legit only.
Not to relate this to religion but im going to to make a point.
A kid is raised as a christian. When he matures he finds out about other religions and beliefs that exist so he has two options aswell, 1 switch religions/beliefs or 2. Stay with christianity bcuz thats what hes use to.
Most likely he will stay with what he is use to Christianity or mods in this case. (Disclaimer: Any religion could have been used there is no significance in my choice of Christianity, just an example)
Its all about what people are use to man. I hope we can atleast agree on that point
Actually the xbox one does have a sort of leaderboards system, in that all the people on your friends list who play that game are tracked on some select stats, and ranked accordingly.
The cool thing about this is that it is a user select leaderboard, so if you have a guy on there that you feel is not playing fairly or whatever, just remove them from your friends list and they are off your personalized group leaderboard.
Pretty cool really. Leaderboard with an ignore feature, heh.

No I don't think they would. Console is not on any blizzard server. Even if no one cheats. They did not want seasons on console. If they had and even if they do. You must start over 100%. So no 10k paragon. And as far as I know. You can not send stuff. So to have cheats in the season. Each new one you would have to mod the save. And at this moment in time. That can NOT be done on the systems that would have the season. So you really can't blame modders for not having them. So in the end a new scapegoat is needed. It is in no way shape forum or fashion the fault of modders.
Just to sum things up about some of the complaints in this thread:
1. Consoles wont get seasons because Blizzard never intended them to come to the console to begin with. Go read all the blue posts, news posts about it. Never once did they say yes they are going to come to console. The answer has always been no. From launch. Modding is not the fault there. It is the fact that Blizzard cannot control your saved games because they do not store them off-site, but instead on your console. This is not moddings fault, this is Blizzards fault for not taking that into consideration.
If you want seasons, !@#$% to Blizzard to make multiplayer saved files stored on Blizzards servers and not on the console itself. (Just a fair warning, its never going to happen.)
2. Item mods ARE your choice to use. If someone drops an item thats modded or mails it to you, it is entirely up to you to equip it. Don't want it? Want to play legit? Drop it on the ground or destroy it. Problem solved. It's as simple as that. You stayed legit, the item is gone, and no problems are had. Blizzard nerfed the exp gem so modders cannot ruin your characters by joining your games and kill 1 thing to max your paragon. Now, instead the only way for a modder to really level your paragon is if they start a high-level greater rift. Guess what? You can say no to that too!
3. You have the option to leave the game. Don't want to play with a modder? Leave the game. Simple isn't it?
4. Don't want to join a game with a modder? Don't join public games blindly. There are plenty of communities out there on this forum, Facebook, fansites, etc. that are specific to legit console players. Take 2 minutes to look for one and you'll find plenty of legit people to play with. PC has communities built in. You want something to complain about, complain to Blizzard to implement those features into the console versions.
tl;dr - Modding didn't ruin your experience, you ruined it youself by not using the tools available to you to leave a game, drop an item, or find other legit players to play with.

Question:WHY do you think Blizzard wants to be able to 'control' your save?
Could it be to avoid having modded equipment muddy the pool of the leaderboards? I imagine that might have something to do with it. Yes, it was announced from the beginning that there would be some events that would not come to console. They were also clear about the fact that the purpose of introducing the XB1 and PS4 iterations was to create an experience that more closely mirrored the PC experience. They wanted patching; they wanted more robust matchmaking; they wanted to offer folks the performance increase (and it's a pretty serious increase).
So, your point 1 is taken, but it's just the case that the reason for wanting to control those saves is how pervasive they KNEW modding would be on the console version, where saves are stored locally.
2. Yes, item mods are a 'choice,' though it's entirely possible that new players do not realize those items are modded. I would guess there are tens of thousands of console players who've never visited a pc forum. Hell, I regularly see people with paragon levels in the 2k-3k range (I'm at about 780) and manage to out dps them. So, it's OBVIOUS that people on the console side of things are not even remotely into the theorycrafting and synergistic side of the equation like the PC crowd is.
..yes, they did patch the gem exploit; however, just as an example, before I knew about the Grift exploit, I accidentally entered a greater rift and got level jumped from about 600 to 700 before I realized it wasn't just the game itself glitching. I left the game, but I ended up with ~100 paragon levels I didn't earn.
..I can just choose to not assign those points, yes, that's true.
..it's still a pain that it *looks* like I'm a cheater on some level, when I've never used any types of mods whatsoever.
So, does it ruin the game? No, you can accomodate some instances such as those I mentioned by simply deleting the item or rectifying a situation like unintentional leveling. It's still very clear, though, that such instances are the reason we don't have seasons..or leaderboards..or clans..or other infrastructure that the PC clan really seems to value and the console folks, at least a very large number of them, would like to have.
L4 modded items on XB1 send me your dupes, I just got this game the grind was amazing but now I would like to try the serious end game modded weapons that everyone has. I really appreciate any help at all GT: Flexxintrexx. Thanks for your help.
